Synopsis
During World War II, a marine is discharged because of chronic hay fever, but through a series of misunderstandings his home town mistakes him for a war hero, and with the adulation mounting, he faces the unenviable task of setting the record straight. The script by producer-director Preston Sturges was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
