January 20th 

  • Screen films that highlight the civil rights movement and organize a panel discussion on MLK's legacy.
  • Before your screening, invite a prominent civil rights activist, scholar or public figure to deliver a keynote speech highlighting the significance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and its relevance today.
  • Following your movie screening, host a moderated discussion encouraging attendees to reflect and share their thoughts utilizing our custom discussion guides.
  • Launch a social media campaign to promote your screening and to raise awareness about Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement. Encourage students to share quotes, personal reflections and stories related to Martin Luther King Jr.'s impact using a specific hashtag or through designated social media accounts. Follow the campaign with a movie night featuring one of our top films

Event Idea:
Lego Day

January 28th

  • Host a timed building challenge before your screening where students are given a set amount of time to build the tallest tower or the most creative structure using LEGO bricks. Provide prizes for the winners.
  • Set up an obstacle course using LEGO bricks where students have to navigate through various challenges such as building bridges, climbing walls and solving puzzles. Time each participant, and the fastest time could win VIP seating at the movie screening after.  
  • Hide LEGO bricks or sets throughout the event area and create a treasure hunt for students. Provide them with clues and riddles to solve in order to find the hidden LEGO treasures. The person or team that finds the most treasures wins a prize or special seating at your movie screening after the competition.
  • Host a Lego robotics workshop with your movie screening where students can learn about robotics using Lego Mindstorms or other Lego robotics kits. Partner with clubs on campus to provide guidance on building and programming robots, and organize friendly competitions to showcase the robots' capabilities.
