Create epic end-of-year programming that students will remember all summer long!
Event Ideas:
Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Collaborate with Asian American and Pacific Islander student organizations to host cultural performances, food tastings and film screenings that showcase the diversity of AAPI cultures and history.
“We showed ‘Moana’ for our annual Cultural Film & Food Festival. Our on-campus head chef whipped up an amazing Polynesian-themed dinner to go along with the event, and we had a discussion with movie-goers about Polynesian/Hawai’ian/Pacific Island cultures and the things ‘Moana’ got right.”

Event Ideas:
Memorial Day
May 26th
Honor the sacrifices of the military with a memorial ceremony on campus, including a flag-raising and a moment of silence. Screen films that pay tribute to veterans and offer resources for supporting military personnel.
Coordinate a service project in collaboration with local veteran organizations or charities. Make your movie screening the drop-off location for donations or for collecting information on participation.
Set up an exhibition at your movie screening that showcases military artifacts, photographs, and displays highlighting the history of various conflicts and the role of the military. Collaborate with history departments, libraries, or local museums to gather resources and create an educational and interactive experience for students.
Host a special meal for veterans and active-duty military personnel on campus at your event. Invite them to enjoy a complimentary breakfast, lunch or dinner before or after the movie as a token of appreciation for their service. This would provide an opportunity for students to personally express their gratitude and engage in meaningful conversations.
