Synopsis
Imaginative and enthralling romantic drama about a rustic Sicilian widower (Vincenzo Amato) who gets involved with a mysterious, aristocratic Englishwoman (Charlotte Gainsbourg) on an immigrant ship en route to America in 1904. The film title refers to the metaphoric passage made by passengers through Ellis Island and into the New World. Written and directed by Emanuele Crialese. Also known as "Nuovomondo."
