Synopsis

Rinko Kikuchi and Chiaki Kuriyama lend their voices to director Mamoru Oshii's sci-fi film about a group of teen pilots who engage in dogfights to entertain a world without war. Japanese ace Yuichi Kannami is a member of the Kildren, a breed of pilots who have no memory and can die only in combat. After being transferred to a new air base, Yuichi begins to sense the futility of his existence.
