SOUTH DAKOTA
South Dakota schools have enjoyed unlimited access to Swank K-12 Streaming through the South Dakota Department of Libraries’ statewide contract. That contract ends October 31, 2025.
Unless your district or school acts, access will be cut off on November 1, 2025.
What is Swank K-12 Streaming?
Swank provides schools with a curriculum-aligned digital library of feature films and documentaries that teachers can legally stream in the classroom or assign for learning at home. The platform also includes teacher tools such as:
- Save key scenes for classroom discussion
- AI Lesson Planner creates activities in seconds
- Search by SD Standards to align films with curriculum
Act Now to Keep Swank K-12
Streaming in Your School or District
Swank K-12 Streaming now offers schools and districts the opportunity to purchase access directly.
- Teachers will keep seamless access to the same South Dakota State streaming portal they’ve used for the past five years.
- The same URL links and SSO authentication will remain in place.
- Saved movie scenes and teaching tools stay intact, so teachers don’t need to change lesson plans or find new resources.
Your teachers won’t notice a difference—except if access disappears.
DEADLINE: October 15, 2025
To avoid losing access, schools and districts must confirm intent to continue by October 15, 2025.
