Synopsis
Best Actor Robert Donat stars as the title character, a beloved schoolmaster at a British boarding school, who initially starts out as a reticent sourpuss, but over the course of 63 years of teaching evolves into a venerable academic institution. Told in flashback, the Best Picture nominee is adapted from the James Hilton best seller. The film debut of Greer Garson (Best Actress nominee), who plays Mr. Chips' engaging young bride.
