February Movie Programming

We’re so excited to be a part of your school programming calendar! There’s no limit to how our movie license can be used in your school to further engage students and their families. Find some of our top picks for pairing new releases and throwback hits with obvious – and not-so-obvious – holiday celebrations below.

Family Engagement:
World Read Aloud Day
(February 1)

For a low-budget, high-impact event, host a book tasting! Simply select some titles, then lay them out on tables with one book per chair. Give each participant a “menu” for them to write down their favorite picks, then allow them a set number of minutes to read each book. Consider grouping genres and reading levels so people can choose the section that most interests them. Afterward, have a table of treats to play into the “tasting” aspect that parents and students can enjoy while watching one of these films.

Reward Days/Fundraising:
National Tell a Fairy Tale Day
(February 26)

Let kids be the stars of the show by inviting them to step on stage and recite fairy tales at your event. They can be stories they’ve been told, or encourage them to craft tales of their own. To add to the excitement, see if any parents will volunteer to dress up as classic fairy tale characters – like princesses or wizards – and do a fun photo opportunity. Finish off your event by screening one of these favorite fairy tale films.

Seasonal:
Black History Month

Spend some time teaching your students about historical African American leaders, inventors and artists. Then, test what they learned with “Who Am I?” Bingo! Make sure you have small prizes on hand for the winners! Afterward, host a school event with a relevant and inspiring film to celebrate this important month.
