Warner Bros. and Legendary's latest blockbuster, "Godzilla x Kong: New Empire," smashed its way to an impressive $80 million opening weekend at the domestic box office. Surging past expectations, the film's debut ranks as the second-best in the MonsterVerse Universe and the fifth biggest Easter opening of all time.

Directed by Adam Wingard, the same director behind "Godzilla vs. Kong," this adrenaline-fueled spectacle brings a fresh twist to the iconic showdown between two titans. Unlike previous installments, where Godzilla and Kong clashed as adversaries, "New Empire" unites the creatures against a common threat.

Internationally, the film continued its rampage, raking in a staggering $114 million and securing its place as one of the top-grossing films of the year.
