Synopsis

This Canadian documentary focuses on the rediscovery of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes, a Novia Scotia-founded ice hockey league made up of Black Canadians. The film unravels the history behind and surrounding its establishment in 1895. While revisiting the race-based prejudices of its existence, the film then connects it to lingering and persisting anti-black racism in the world of ice hockey today.
