Why does our school need a movie license?
Whenever a movie is shown outside of curriculum-tied classroom instruction, a Public Performance License is required under U.S. Copyright Law. Swank’s license provides full coverage for both planned and unplanned showings, so your school is always covered.
What movies and studios are included?
Swank licenses movies from all major Hollywood studios, including Disney, Pixar, Universal, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros., Lionsgate and more. As the sole source for public performance licensing of these studios in the K-12 market, Swank ensures every movie your school loves to show is covered under one agreement. Which license is right for my school, Single Event or Annual Site?
The Single Event License is built for one-time showings. If your school plans multiple movie events throughout the year, the Annual Site License is the better fit, covering unlimited showings on school property for 12 months under a single agreement.
Where can movies be shown?
Movies can be shown indoors or outdoors on school property during the license term.
